Sweet Nothings #3

Just listed another Sweet Nothings in the Etsy Shop. I have another busy weekend coming up and will be away from home for 2 days so I wanted to get something listed. Next week I can devote attention to a more substantial listing.
We will be at our nephew's confirmation tomorrow in NY, and in NJ all day Saturday watching our daughter row for UMass - go UMass!

Thanks to everyone who shared my good day with me yesterday. I'll keep you all posted as the process progresses. In the meantime, any finger crossing, psyching, praying or whatever would be appreciated.

Have a wonderful weekend everyone!

Way To Go Day!

We all need a little pick-me-up every once and a while and today I sure got mine!

I have been out of work since February and finally had a interview today with a company I'd really like to work for. I walked away feeling confident, and I received a call back from my recruiter that the company was very impressed with me and would like me back for a second round of interviews! How incredible is that?!

In addition to that, I received phone calls today from 2 other companies I applied to wanting to interview me as well!!! The other 2 companies don't impress me nearly as much "on paper" however I will follow through with the interviews anyway, but I'm just feeling so freaking awesome at the moment!

Sweet Nothings

It's still in the 90's here and I'm still melting!
I did take advantage of the cooler morning to get my latest creations ready for the Etsy shop.
Presenting my Sweet Nothings!
I hope they are well received. They are fun to make and a good way to put to good use scraps of linen from larger projects. I hate to waste, and as I was cutting off pieces of linen last week I thought I could probably work up some little something - end result - Sweet Nothings!
Sweet little miniature pillows for ornaments to hang where ever it strikes your fancy.

Stitch-free Weekend

I hope I don't go through withdrawal - I'm going away and am NOT taking my cross stitch with me. I find time everyday to stitch so it will be hard not to have it with me to pick up at whim. I'm leaving behind my newest project that I started this morning. Hopefully it will be finished and in the Etsy shop sometime next week.

I plan to go to my home town for the weekend and get together with 2 friends from high school. I met up with one of them recently through Facebook after 35 years!!! When we met it was like we never left off from our high school days. We tracked down another friend and the 3 of us are leaving our homes in PA, NJ and MA to meet in our home town in NY. I know it will be an amazing time, with no time for stitching!

Hope you all have a great weekend too.

Remember Me Pillow

Since I've gotten back in to cross stitching and have created a bunch of new pieces recently I decided to mix it up a little and do a cross stitch pillow for the first time. It was well received and suggested I do more pillows. I just completed another pillow and added it to my shop. I'm really happy with the end result.
I'm currently working on another one too - a little change-up from the usual framed pieces. What do you think?

Generous Spirit

Wow - I'm so touched by one of the awesome individuals who is participating in the challenge - Get Excited and Make Things.
Tommye, of TJBDesigns on Etsy has insisted I donate whatever I was going to send her to a charitable or needy cause. Very generous Tommye and I'm honored to be connected with you. Thank you for humbling me!
Check out Tommye's shop - she has some great scissor fobs, and her blog, I'd rather by stitching is very inspiring to anyone interested in stitching.

1829 Forest Sampler

Just wanted to share my latest addition to my Etsy shop - it's my new fav!
I love the frame, and the wonderful pleasing colors.

Beautiful Necklace

I'm just so blown away by my dear friend Lori Eurto. I just received this amazing necklace from her. In her blog last week this is what she wrote -

I made this necklace for my friend Beth. Beth Anderson is one of my longest, loyal customers who isn't just a customer anymore. She's my friend! And a wonderful mentor too!

I am so touched and so very lucky. What a friend Lori is and she has had a tremendous influence on my life recently - I feel so indebted to her. THANK YOU Lori. I'm the lucky one to have a friend like you!
Check out her shop on Etsy, Lorelei1141 filled with incredible jewelry. Her talent is amazing!

TGI(h)F - Thank Goodness I (have) Friends

TGIF, and what a beautiful weekend today and tomorrow will be in my area.
Like most people thankful for Friday, I am thankful for all of the wonderful people I have met on Etsy and blogging. Just think, I would not even be here if it were not for my good friend Lori. She has introduced me to an entirely new world which I’m so lucky to be part of. Thank you Lori, and thank you to everyone out there who has made a connection to me.

By the way, my photo of the sampler has nothing to do with my appreciation of all of my wonderful friends and acquaintances, but I just wanted to share it since I just listed it in my shop.

Have You Had Your Vegetables Today?

Have you had your vegetables today?
How cute are these peas?
I did these 3 pieces ages ago and just came across them yesterday. I hate that they were just sitting in a drawer. I’m going to put them in my Etsy shop and hope someone buys them and will do something with them. I love the whimsy of them – they just make you feel good don’t they?
While it’s not an ideal situation being a casualty of a reduction in workforce, it is great to have so much time to catch up on stitching and creating. It is also so cool to have the time to do “spring cleaning” and find things that I’ve forgotten about like these wonderful vegetables.
We have 3 beautiful sunny days predicted for us starting today. I’m looking forward to wonderful natural light for stitching and getting some much needed fresh air. I hope the sun is shining on you too.

April Showers

It's raining again. As the saying goes, April showers bring May flowers!
I am thinking the rain will not only bring the flowers, green grass and make the trees explode, but it's a good excuse to stay in, sit in a comfortable chair, and do stitching. Make the most of what there is, and right now that means, enjoy the rain, and what it brings with it.
Stay warm and dry!

Busy Week

What a busy week so far. Is the week half over already?

We had a great time in Massachusetts. The highlight, besides seeing our daughter, was I went out with the coach on his launch during practice. Being a dedicated crew Mom it was an opportunity I jumped at. It sure gives me an even stronger appreciation of how dedicated and hardworking those kids are.

I’ve had two interviews for jobs so far this week too! Yeah!
I’m surprised I had time to finish my “Busy Hands” piece which I just listed in my shop.

Weekend

Thanks to all who appreciated my wine recommendations, and thanks for the additional recommendations from you too.

The weekend is upon us again and we are going up to Massachusetts tomorrow to see our daughter who is a freshman at UMass. We have not seen her since Christmas break since she is an athlete (at a Division I school) and does not get time off for spring break, weekends, etc.
I can’t ever say enough about how proud I am of her for her commitment. She rows, and anyone who is familiar with rowing knows the total dedication and commitment of the rower since it is such a physical sport requiring a lot of strength and cardiovascular endurance.
It is also a beautiful sport and one of the oldest Olympic sports.
That’s my Katie in the burgundy jacket - I’m a proud Mom and looking forward to a wonderful weekend.
I wish you all a wonderful weekend as well.
